May Rides 2010
Date: 23 May 2010 - Discovery Center RideMeet - Caltex Servo, 375 Great Eastern Hwy, Midvale Time - 9am onwards, departing 9.30am sharp
Leaving Midvale we will ride up through Bullsbrook, stopping at the bakery in Bindoon for morning tea, then across to Gingin for a short stop at the waterwheel park, then onto the Discovery Center for lunch. Returning to Perth via Joondalup for a total distance of about 250kms
JUNE RIDES 2010
Date : Sunday 13 June 2010Meet - Caltex service station, South street, Murdoch Time : 11am onwards, Departing 11.30am Destination: Fast Eddy's Cafe , Albany Hwy, Carousel shopping Centre
This is just a short lunch ride and will provide an opportunity over a bit of tucker for us to get our heads together and sort out who's doing what the following weekend when we head for Coral Bay. Well this is our big ride north, we will be cruising up the coast overnighting at Geraldton, Carnarvon and then Coral Bay, with a day trip to Exmouth for our mini golf challenge and possibly view the gorges. After quad biking in Coral Bay and generally have a relaxing time we will make our way back, overnighting at Kalbarri and then home. For those members that are unable to make the full trip, we invite you to ride with us to one of the following stops on our way to Geraldton, returning at your leisure. Distances are from Joondalup and one way Reagans Ford - 110km Badgingarra - 186km Halfway Mill Roadhouse - 230km A couple of riders are riding with us all the way to Geraldton, overnighting and returning on the next day, so this is another option for those interested. Stops may be adjusted on the day to suit rider requirements.
JULY RIDES 2010
Date - Sunday 25 JulyMeet - Sizzlers, 122 Albany Hwy, Kelmscott Time - 9am onwards, Departing 9.30am
Leaving Kelmscott we will make our way down to Dwellingup for morning tea, have a look in the bike clothing store and craft shop. Then we ride across through Pinjarra to the Ravenswood Hotel which is situated on the banks of the Murray river. if you are like me you've probably been past here a million times and not stopped in, this is such a great location, with a caravan park alongside and boat hire available thru the warmer months. Ride distance is about 170km Watch this space later in the year for an overnighter, including an afternoon river cruise sipping a nice wine and enjoying the serenity of the area.
AUGUST RIDES 2010Date - Sunday 15th AugustMeet - Sizzlers, 122 Albany Hwy, KelmscottTime - 9am onwards departing 9.30am
This ride is being organised and led by Clive and Michelle. Once we leave Sizzlers we will be heading for Serpentine, stopping at the restaurant overlooking the dam for morning tea. It will be interesting to see how much water is actually in the dam. Then we make our way across to Albany Hwy through the back of Jarradale and continue south to Williams for lunch, ride distance is about 320km return from Sizzlers.
